Conceptual Design

The goal of this phase is to establish a design direction in relation to a project’s scope, character, and probable cost.

We begin the process by developing, along with the client, a clearer and more precise understanding of their needs and desires. A key step is illustrating, and then evaluating, at the conceptual level, the range of possibilities and strategies that shall serve the project best. The resulting ideas are then presented through diagrammatic plans, elevations, 3D computer models, and perspective sketches.

It is also important to assist our clients in determining possible cost implications of different design approaches and construction phasing options. It is critical, at this stage, to identify any additional discernible factors that may limit or constrain a project such as zoning or environmental constraints.

At the end of this phase, the nature of the project has been set. The project is defined by architectural drawings and three dimensional models in extent
