This house overlooks a small skating pond with a warming shed. A series of barrel-vaulted dormers add scale and compositional effect to this shingle-clad house. The hipped roof of the exterior is punctuated by large “sleepy eye” dormers and a cylindrical stair tower. The street-facing rooms are screened by a long “farmers” porch punctuated by a barrel-vaulted portico leading to the front door. The focus of the front hall and entrance is a wall-mounted limestone and onyx fountain, inspired by the small neighborhood fountains of Rome. The great room contains a carved limestone fireplace along with two curving, stained walnut wood trusses. The four-season screened porch connects to a terraced patio, pool and spa. The first floor contains a large integrated living area consisting of a kitchen, informal dining area, family room connecting to a screened porch along with a formal dining room, billiard room and office. The master suite includes a corner loggia along with four additional bedrooms and an office suite.
